10 Tips To Expand Your Business For Free By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Stewart_John_Cormack]Stewart John Cormack Contact your local Newspaper and ask them if you can write an interesting article about your chosen subject (something interesting that gives real value to others). This could become a regular article in your local newspaper which gives you credibility and people will come to you with questions as long as you leave your contact details at the bottom of the article. Create a blog to compliment your newspaper articles and post them on your blog, Facebook, Twitter etc. (Your blog will also have your contact details and perhaps a 'Capture Page' so you can gather a list of names and email addresses to mail to in the future. It would be cheating to say 'set-up LinkedIn, Facebook Pages, Google+ Pages as that would quickly use up my 10 tips so that's all included in Tip 2. Set up a Craigslist account - simply visit craigslist.org and follow the online instructions. Again, I am not going to use up my tips with similar items so do the same in eBay and Gumtree and every other free classified ads pages available. Use these accounts to advertise that you have something to offer. Give away something for nothing! - But try to be a little bit different since nearly every site these days is giving away an 'unbelievably fantabidosy, unique, never been revealed before Free Report' so set yourself apart from this drivel. Create an information product that you can give away, something that is of real value to the recipient but doesn't cost you anything but time to put it together. Create your own TV Channel as you can do on YouTube. This is a great one of the many small business tools that can help get yourself and your brand known on the Internet. You can have a great video on your website to better greet your visitors and give it a more personal feel. This makes people feel comfortable and as we are all 'visual' people it breaks the ice and keeps people on your page. Remember your visitors will land on your page an 'flitter' (maybe a new word I just made up) like a Robin Redbreast for only a few seconds until they are distracted and flitter off to whatever takes their fancy. Article Marketing - The mistake that people can make when writing an article to market their business is writing a sales page. An article should be informative and teach your reader something they want to know. There will be an area at the end, usually called a resource box, where you get a chance to pitch yourself and your website. Your goal is to write an article that is informative enough that the person will want to know more about you. Next Tip: Use your Articles to make up an eBook of about 24 pages and then take the best of your articles and write a real old fashioned 'Book' and publish it on Lulu or Amazon. Become a 'Speaker' - now I realise this is a scary thought for some but it doesn't have to be. Start taking to small groups about your chosen subject. Ask the local WI if they would like to see some photographs or PowerPoint presentation of your latest project or ask at your local college, garden centre or appropriate location for your business. If you're a builder ask at your local builder's yard or Trade Market if you can do a few demonstrations to show a few tricks of the trade. It goes without saying really but I should say it - 'Get a Great Website'. Build a web presence. This can be a full-blown website, or just one page designed to collect email addresses of potential customers (this type of page is called a squeeze page) Build a list. Experienced internet marketers will tell you that "money is in the list". To build a list, you will need auto responder software, a squeeze page, and a free gift to offer to people who come to your page to encourage them to subscribe. Be Different. If you've been selling the same type of products for years and years it may be time to upgrade by adding more up to date items that are more in demand. For example, if you've only been selling books you may want to add electronic gadgets to enhance your reader's experiences or create a New Service. If you've only been Product-Based, you may want to look into adding some type of a Service either attached to your product or as a separate package. For example, if you've only sold watches as a stand-alone, you may want to add a Service Level Agreement to maintain that watch in good working condition. Business expansion of any kind, whether in product or service may entail taking your business to the next level maybe even International. Under Promise & Over Deliver... is a popular quote by some business gurus. I share this belief in many ways but sometimes over-promising (even with the best of intentions) unfortunately damages professional reputations when individuals fail to deliver, negatively affecting your credibility and the perceptions of your competence. In today's business environment, it is always better to consistently exceed everyone's expectations and Be All You Can Be!
